Dear OSU Students,
Regardless of your major and where you may be advised, these LASSO Center services are offered to you free of charge:
- One-on-one tutoring in any subject/class you may need help;
- Academic Facilitators, who will help you navigate OSU and its many offices, organize your class schedule and syllabi, make appointments with tutors, set a regular study schedule, and more;
- Student Academic Mentors, upper-classmen assigned to LASSO orientation classes to coordinate projects and activities as you adjust from high school to your new college setting;
- LASSO advisers to help you pick a major or verify the one you’ve already selected;
- One- or two-credit hour academic success courses or workshops on study skills, major selection, making your grades, academic policies and procedures, time management, etc. These may be for academic credit and a grade so that you can find information you need to know, yet still improve your GPA. (NOTE: Tuition and fees must be charged when degree credit is offered.)
These are only few of the services offered by this new center. Please stop by 214 Student Union during New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, or any time during the semester if you have questions. We look forward to meeting and working with you.
Sincerely,
The LASSO Center Staff
