UAS Admissions Programs

Undecided Transfer Students

At University Academic Services (UAS) we can advise undecided transfer students. Please contact us (405-744-5333) if you have any questions about registration or advisement. We also offer a special fall course called Transfer Orientation, UNIV 3110. In addition to this special course, we have the Trasnfer Student Peer Mentors, Transfer Student Organization and Tau Sigma, the OSU chapter of the National Transfer Student Honor Society.

The UAS Paul Milburn Tutoring Program is a service offering free one-on-one tutoring to any student needing assistance.  Qualified tutors are approved by both UAS and their academic department at OSU.  This program was originally funded as a gift from an OSU graduate who was dedicated to helping student succeed.  Interested students need only to call or come by the UAS office to arrange for this individualized tutoring.

Degree Sheets of all undergraduate programs offered at OSU are kept on file in the UAS Office so that students may explore and compare different options, which interest them.

The Student Academic Mentor Program matches new freshmen and transfer students with a “big brother or a big sister” in an effort to ease the transition to OSU.  These “SAMS” are carefully selected among continuing students at OSU to work with new students individually during ALPHA and often in small groups through their freshman orientation classes to help them feel welcome and assimilate into campus life.

The University Academic Assessment Program is designed to provide academic assistance and advisement to students who have experienced academic difficulty.  Specifically, UAAP serves:
·  arrowStudents in UAS who are on academic probation and those who are referred by the colleges;
·  arrowStudents in good standing, according to State Regents’ policy, but are ineligible for admission to their     desired college;
   arrowStudents suspended by OSU who have stayed out of college for minimum of one regular semester and who show potential for success;
   arrowTransfer students on academic probation who are admitted due to special circumstances.
Students enrolled through UAAP are assisted in reevaluating their career and educational goals, as well as in developing an academic plan appropriate for their interests and abilities.
**A course called UNIV2001, Academic Assessment and Evaluation, is offered to student in an effort to help them achieve their goals.
